    What is the IFRM doing ? 2009 press release and current news stay intouch...

     
    • Dec 3rd  conference call with attorney James Juneau seeking direction on topic waivers of donated equipment. Also Dec.5th IFRM staff performed a two week mission in the country of Papua New Guinea or PNG. ANd finally. Dec.22nd IFRM participated in a teleconf with staff from www.aidmatrix.org exploring the use of services to move donations from around the country to IFRM warehouses.
    • Nov 27th  huge donation from firefighters at the Freedom FD in Wisconsin.
    • Nov 23rd  meeting @ Rosenbauer with staff from NORAD/NORCOM wishing to explore relations with the IFRM.
    • Oct 14th Meeting with primary financial and product supporter GearGrid, they have continued their support of the IFRM into 2010
    • During this summer a new volunteer Alina Schneider” who is a “EMT-P, RN, Med” assisted the IFRM with updating the EMS-PowerPoint materials. We are very thankful for the expertise and dedication that she put into this material. The presentation was completed in mid Oct 09 and ready for delivery as Teams prepare for another mission this time to PNG or Papua New Guinea. This material will help First Responders well into the future…
    • Aug 09 Leaders from The Falcon Fellows Program, a group of passionate UWRF students who have committed themselves to completing 300 hours of volunteer service in the community within one year through the AmeriCorps Programs visited with IFRM staff and talked about student involvement during the upcoming school year.  We are very thankful for the interest, enthusiasm and support from the College and students. These students will assist with collection and warehouse activities. We have also asked if they would assist with computer needs, Grant writing, and marketing both print and web.
    • During the second week in July 09 the IFRM received a huge donation of a Fire Engine by Chief Daryl Byrne of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, CT   A couple of firefighter also have expressed interest in helping with the delivery and training of its use to the Firefighters on the Island of Roatan. Thank you Norfolk....
    • Jun-19-09  We had a very exciting visit from the Executive Director of Firefighters Crossing Boarders   Joel Schwarz and his wife Deb. It was the perfect time to relax and talk about future goals and relationships.
    • Jun-17-09  We shipped materials to PNG and a Team will follow up possibly in Nov.09
    • May-23-09 Chief Tim Mosher of Lima, Oh came to the warehouse and donated many items from his area. The goal is that the IFRM would help him with sister city growth in Lima, Peru.  WE have committed to work to that goal early 2010 while on the way to Bolivia.
    • Apr-18-09 We presented at the Iowa Firemen's Association Mid Year Meeting with the goal of securing the endorsement in Iowa.
    • Apr- 7-09  Staff from the IFRM were invited to attend an end users conference with  W.L. Gore and Associates, Inc. much was learned and will be used in future presentation Thanks much to Jennifer and the folks at W.L.Gore for the support.
    • Mar- 2-09  We also had a Site visit from Congressman Oberstar's office.
    • Feb-25-09 As busy as its been, I thought we  made it out of Feb without another event notice when we received a surprising call from Chris @ Bluefin Technology  stating that one of his clients  Dennis Kirk wanted to help the IFRM by donating several Computer work stations. We hope to improve our warehouse inventory with this new technology..
    • Feb-12-09 We had a nice site visit from staff @PNG looking over the equipment that we would be sending to assist the development of the Fire service on that Island.
    • Feb-09 is going fast. With the help of Barry Kuenkel, we are now endorsed  by the Wisconsin State Firefighter's Assoc.     We are also very busy with Grant filings. Website activity continues to grow around the world. Wisconsin region has really grown this month and collections have been great during Fire/EMS schools.
    •  Beginning in Jan 2009 we have launched a new web site to better manage the traffic.  We also are excited by the communication that is growing with Central and South America. We have #6-new locations that we are currently evaluating for service in 2009.
    • On Monday morning Nov.24th The IFRM received a call on behalf of the U.S. Department of State asking if we could assist on an urgent Firefighter equipment donation to the Country of Armenia . That evening our Board approved a delivery. In future we will allocate in Inventory section for such requests..
    • On Nov.6th the IFRM took delivery of a much needed support vehicle. Immediately a call of a donation was made and the vehicle was put to use. The donation came from Chaska Fire Department.  Thanks to all the staff at Allina Medical Transportation for the vehicle donation.
    • The IFRM has been invited to be speakers at the first World Conference being held in Manchester, UK  the topic is: the challenges we face in the USA as a charity. held between Oct.28th and Nov.1st 2008. We are excited with this opportunity.
    • Sept 11th 2008 We received a copy of an article printed in the International Fire Fighter magazine. We first met them at FDIC-Indy08. Thanks for the coverage. We are already getting foreign responses.
    • Sept 4th 2008 After a news article with FireRescue 1we have had a high caller month. All the way from more donations to requests too be TEAM members on next mission. Everything has been shipped.. Our TEAM leaves Sept.25  first for the Ukraine then to Moldova and finally to London.
    • July 24th 2008   Today, with again, the help of Mr.Tim Zehnder - Program Manager @ South Central College in Mankato, Mn. They gathered a much needed compressor and many sets of turnouts, SCBA's etc. from area departments.
    • July 15th 2008 we are now ready for shipments to the Ukraine and Moldova. hellmann worldwide logistics  is handling the Ukraine shipment and the US Department of State is shipping the Moldova equipment. Another Team of Six men are going. Again through the support of Fire Departments all over we have Great equipment to help our fellow firefighters.
    • May 22nd 2008. We are excited about preliminary talks with the State of Minnesota Colleges and Universities Dean of Transportation. The IFRM is looking for local, regional and national relationships to help collect Fire Department donations.
    • May 21st 2008 Jack McLOUGHLIN of Fire Research Corporation FRC notified us that they received #5 cartons of Fire Gear from the Alpine Fire Department,NJ  FireFighter:John Halbreich and his Chief have offered to help spread the word in their region...  Thanks Guys....
    • May 16th 2008.. The IFRM is very thankful for the donations from a local carton or packaging company who wishes to remain annonymous.
    • On April 30th 2008 we received word though Steve Schwartz of Lion Apparel one of our founding supporters that hellmann worldwide logistics is looking to help with global shipping needs.
    • We are excited about the much needed office and storage support offered through Rosenbauer   General Division  5181 260th St., Wyoming MN, 55092
    • Our Visit to  FDIC 2008 was incredible. We have had many contacts and our message is growing stronger. It will take us some time to get through all the contacts we need to follow up on.
    • On Friday April 4th 2008 we received word from the state Department that we can ship two containers toMoldova this year. We welcome that opportunity. 
    • Our sites are now set for 2008 on the Ukraine.We have had a lot of interest coming from this region and we are now doing some fact finding.
    • We have some open invitation to Romania. Mongolia, and some South American regions.
